Some old architecture based pieces. These were actually part of as an architectural study and model recreation project of Santa Maria della Conzolione by Capra da Caprarolla, inspired by Leonardo's original domed cathedral.

ArtRage

Painting dump time. Just to put something up that's at least related.

This painting was completed using a new bit of software I picked up to try. ArtRage. To my surprise many of my friends had already been using this for quite some time, I had a blast using block structure.

I didn't have any reference but I suppose that the fur mantles from A Game of Thrones inspired the apparel for this piece.

First entry

Hi there.

I'm James, happily married living between Nagoya, Japan and Sydney, Australia. I've studied Fine Arts for the past 5 years at tertiary level in hopes to find myself in a studio based occupation. I'm not there yet. I work casually as a art-lecturer between commission work.

This blog is to act as a sketchbook and general pondering pit. Where I had carefully crafted my thoughts into cryptic 140-character blogs over at twitter I have now the space to flesh my thoughts out.

Next to general thoughts this place will hopefully be flooded with pages from my sketchbook which I'm constantly jotting minute sketches into which often work their way into fleshed out compositions.

Cheers
